They're back! The Markland is thrilled to be welcoming back for the 6th year the well known Canadian musical group, the Barra MacNeil family.  We love having the Barra MacNeils and their highly entertaining and energetic yet intimate show sells out every year. It truly is a Maritime highlight! This year the Barra's will be helping us to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday. So come on out. The evening is sure to entertain.

The six MacNeil siblings are widely regarded as one of the greatest live concert acts in the Celtic world. Hailing from Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the family group is deeply rooted in Celtic music, culture, dance, language and history. Their numerous critically acclaimed recordings have included their own original songs as well as tried and true standards, both instrumental and vocal. Very exciting indeed for all of us up here on the northern tip of Cape Breton!

Call the Markland at (902)383-2246 to get your tickets ($20/person). Advance Ticket Sales only.

Hailing from the South East of England, the Red Dirt Skinners are widely regarded as one of the most innovative acts to come out of the UK in recent years. The sublime, genre-defying sound of the Red Dirt Skinners is created by the husband and wife team of Rob and Sarah Skinner. This dynamic duo has recently released their 5th album and with sold out shows, standing ovations and rebookings all over the place, Canadians just can't get enough of them. Their music has been described as "refreshingly different", an acoustic mixture of blues, country, folk, americana and some jazz.

It is with great excitement that we welcome the multi award winning duo, Sarah and Rob to the Markland.

Tickets will be sold at the Octagon door ($20/person).
